Ivan Pickett was born on Pools Island and moved to Centreville when he was 7.  He has strong ties to the community though family and grandparents.   When he completed high school, he moved to St John’s to obtain an accounting degree where he started work with the Provincial Government, got married and raised two children.   He resided there for the next 42 years and always dreamed of returning home to live.  

His career spanned 34 years with Provincial Government, working in various departments, including Social Services, Education, Justice, Public Works, Finance, Environment and Lands, Natural Resources, and Municipal Affairs.  During his 10-year tenure with Municipal Affairs, he was the liaison to many town councils advising them on finance, operational issues, amalgamations, and other support as required.

Ivan first got elected to CWT council in 2021 and re-elected in 2025.   He is currently sitting on the Kittiwake Joint Council Committee,  Kittiwake Coast Trail Committee,  Kittiwake Snowmobile Association , ATV and Snowmobile Association, and a member of the CWT – Indian Bay Community Choir for the last several years. 

Kirk White spent approximately 35 years working in the Oil Industry with an experienced background in Human resources. He retired and returned to his hometown of C.W.T in 2012.

Since returning, Kirk has sat on Centreville Academy’s School Council, Tidy Town Committee, Chairperson for the Resettler Museum, many fundraising committees such as Winter Carnival and St. Barnabus Church. Currently chairing the local Community Choir.

Since relocating here, Kirk has opened a successful antique store named “Washed Ashore Antiques.” He is also a recipient of the Small Business of the Year Award.

Kirk is an active volunteer and is committed to council and making C.W.T the best place to live.

Ralph was born in Wareham, May 1952.  He moved to Wabush in 1970.  He met his wife Judy in 1973.  In 1974 they married and they raised three children.  In 2008, after 34 years of work with Wabush Mines he retired and moved back to his hometown of CWT.  Ralph was elected to council in 2009, 2013, 2017, 2021 and 2025. 

Councillor Ralph is an active volunteer and member of Planning & Works Committee, Fire Department Liason, Local Tidy Towns Committee, Vera Penney Memorial Park Committee and Winter Carnival Committee.

Ian was born in Caerphilly, Glamorgan, Wales. UK, he lived there until 2yrs old, when the family moved back to the Northeast of England (Billingham), where councilor Ian remained until he joined the Royal Navy. After a short while he took on an apprenticeship as a contracting electrician. When the apprenticeship was completed, he went into the chemical industry with (ICI). Following on from this he joined the oil industry company Shell, working for them for more than 32 years. During this time, he made a home in Norfolk, UK. Where he still has a house.

Following significant life changes he met his now spouse Rhyna Cutler; they met on Facebook of all places. After several trips to Newfoundland to visit Rhyna, he stayed, making Centreville home, and became a Canadian Citizen and proud to do so.

A volunteer for many events, taker of many photographs, director at IBEC & The Local Harbour Authority.  A caring individual who serves the community in many ways and is proud to represent our community on council.

Tony was born and raised in Wareham, moved to Ontario after finishing school and worked in different trades.  He was a member of the Labourers union, Carpenters Union and the Teamsters Union.  He took a early retirement in 2017 moving back to the place he always called home, beautiful C.W.T. 

Since moving back to C.W.T. he has been very active in the community, helping out and volunteering when and where he could.  He is an active member of the Indian Bay Ecosystem Corporation, currently serving as Treasurer.  His hobbies include fishing & hunting, walking, hiking , skating and many other activities. 

He is looking forward to working with other councillors, the mayor & staff of Centreville-Wareham-Trinity to help keep the community beautiful & a safe place to live.

Corey Pickett was born April 1974 in Scarborough, ON. Moved to NL in 1990 and finished High School, returned to ON in 1996 and began his career in Payroll/HR.

Returned to NL in 2010 with his job working from home that he continues to do with 25 years of experience. Since in CWT he has been a member of CWT Recreation and coached minor hockey in CWT Central Arena and Beothic Arena. Also, an active member with the summer festival committee.

He is active person that enjoys the great outdoor activities such as walking trails and hiking. Corey really enjoys helping others and always accepts a challenge and looking forward to learning more to make CWT a great community to be proud of!

I was born in New Harbour, Trinity Bay and at the early age of 2 years, my family moved to the mining town of Buchans. In 1965, I moved to Labrador City and completed my high school schooling there and started work for the Iron Ore Company of Canada in 1968. While going to school in Lab City, I met my wife; Bernice Brown {who’s family are originally from Fair Island/Centreville} and we have been married now for 56 years and counting. I have very strong ties to the community of CWT; through family and friends I have met since 1968. Bernice and I have two children, Dion who lives in Toronto, and Nichole, who also lives in Ontario, in a small town called Madoc. Bernice and I also have two beautiful grandchildren, Kassandra and Taylor. Both live in Ontario.

In 1969, IOCC, started a trades program. I applied and was able to get into their “Millwright/Field Mechanic” program. In 1974, I completed my apprenticeship program, attaining my “Red and Gold” seal! In 1980, Bernice and I, with the two kids moved to Ontario. I started out working for a Steel Mill in Whitby and then moved on to the automotive industry in 1999. Because of some health issues in 2013, Bernice and I, decided it was time to go home. Home to C.W.T.!!

Since we have been home, Bernice and I have been active volunteers in our community. To name just a few; we are active members of our local Lions Club, Tuckamore Club, St. Barnabus Church, Heritage Committee and the Winter Carnival Committee.

This is my third term being a councillor here in C.W.T, and I am looking forward to working with the new and old councillors, in making C.W.T., a town that is loved by its residents, and is the envy of other towns up and down the shore.

As a councillor, I have been on the Public works committee. This term I continue to be on the War Memorial Committee, the Vera Penney Memorial Park Committee and I am looking forward to being added to “The finance committee” and “the Beach house committee” for C.W.T.

As a town, we do have some new challenges coming up, but I believe we have the right people in place to take on all these challenges and get “er done”.

Hobbies: Playing my guitars and singing, watching hockey, curling, baseball and of course I love a good game of cards.
